I would generally agree in the event of paying lip service

I would generally agree in the event of paying lip service to social problems without also putting money and support to advocate for change or applying it to the organization and their job at the very least. Having said that police brutality is not exactly something that a company like EA throwing cash at the problem does much towards fixing. At best they place money towards the attorneys and groups that fight to see justice after the truth or lobby to get laws changed that in the current government will not. It’s systemic issues in Mut 21 coins authorities of not reporting their own and holding them accountable rather staying quiet and with the police unions which allow it all to occur or in ways even encourage it from the repercussions being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired at another precinct showing them there’s no consequences. Before even getting to legislation and rulings such as qualified immunity which shield abusive cops and permit them to abuse their power freely. The majority of that EA and many capitalist companies aren’t able to perform all that much about making it unjust to say they’re in the best possible position to do more.

Those at the best possible position to do more are the supposed great cops by no longer staying quiet and allowing bad cops to eliminate their abuse of power or voting to get better direction for their marriages which will not enable the behavior. But of course it is just words. Businesses will only ever do these things once public opinion has turned into one way. Even if all corporations stopped doing things wrong, it is going to take a long, long time for that image of corporate America to reduce its tarnish. Part of what people can do is elect politicians that at least promise they’ll hold these corporations accountable. It probably wont happen by itself. This could be much easier if someone like this could run for office successfully.

Because regardless of the opinion, this remains 100 percent a company and marketing maneuver. If they really wanted to do something positive, they could do it without marketing their products while doing so. Because it is not genuine. This is not any different than the coronavirus advertisements. They might have said nothing at all. Rather, they attracted positive attention to the protests. That’s good. Solidarity or else they realize a nice chunk of their audience is preoccupied with something more significant than a damn videogame? Man. These remarks really highlight the nihilistic nature of reddit users. Yes, this really is a company. Yes, it’s something to do with advertising. However, Jesus, can’t we be happy that companies are stating something? Do you not understand how much of an effect this could create? If the company ignored the circumstance, it might give every checked out mind the concept that what is happening is ordinary and regular.

EA does not care for people who are not investors. Removing Kaepernick’s title from songs in Madden two years in a row reveals it. Companies do not need one to defend them, let their attorneys do that work. But we should not praise a company for reaching the absolute bare minimum. It seems just like throwing a party for when your friend says”Hey guys I am not racist” after he said the N word a year ago. You are not cool and ethical for thanking corporations for not spitting on you. We ought to praise firms who show patterns of pleasure. Feel free to disagree, but don’t act like this specific instance is this incredibly complex morally-grey circumstance. I mean I thought there were pretty strict regulations whose names and likeliness can be utilized in Madden. Like Belicheck and Payton aren’t in Madden because they aren’t part of the NFLCA and that’s who EA includes a buy mut coins madden 21 contract with. They might have to cover Kap if his title is utilized and therefore are probably avoiding that. That and Kap isn’t just welcome from the NFL planet (not speaking about fans) anymore.
