Principle and Advantages of Double Shaft Paddle Mixer

The double shaft paddle mixer is mainly composed of the body, rotor, discharge mechanism, transmission part, and control part. The body of the double shaft paddle mixer is of double groove shape, and its cross-section shape is of W type. There are two feeding ports on the top of the body and one discharging port on the bottom of the two grooves. The rotor of the machine is composed of two shafts installed side by side and rotating in the opposite direction, and the blades installed on them. Each group of blades has two blades, which are generally installed on the shaft at a 45 angle. The blade groups on the two shafts are staggered with their wheelbase less than the sum of the length of the two blades. When the rotor is running, the ends of the corresponding blades on the two shafts form a cross overlap in the central part of the body, but they will not collide with each other. When the dual paddle mixer is working, the material in the mixer presents a multi-directional composite motion state:
One is the convection mixing along the rotor axis;
The second is shear mixing, that is because there is a velocity gradient distribution in the material, shear surfaces are formed in the material, which makes the materials collide and slide with each other, thus forming shear mixing;
The third is a special diffusion mixing. In the middle of the twin paddle mixer‚s body, the one-line area, that is, the movement overlap area formed by the two rotors rotating in the opposite direction, because of the opposite movement of the two rotors, the material in this area is more than twice stronger than in other areas under the action of rotating blades. It is characterized by light and gentle mixing, small friction, no segregation of the mixture and no damage to the original physical state of the material. The mixer is mainly used for the addition of molasses and the mixing of mineral and trace elements, with high mixing uniformity.
